Last week I visited Cotehele in Devon to see their amazing Christmas garland. Containing over 22,000 dried blooms which are grown in the gardens this mammoth 60 foot festive treat takes a team of gardeners and volunteers many hours to create each year, with colour schemes varying each time. This year the garland has a pink and purple theme and all the types of flowers used are also displayed in vases so that visitors can be inspired to grow them at home. There’s an exhibition about the history of the garland and how it is put together. Elsewhere in the house there are more festive rooms and outside in the gardens, each door is decorated with a unique handmade Christmas wreath.
