Devon gardens in December

Last weekend I visited Devon, possibly not the best idea in December but I still managed to see some nice gardens.

RHS Rosemoor

There’s never a bad time to visit Rosemoor, always something to look at and something new. There was also a festive gift fair which I visited during the rain showers! The veggie garden was looking lovely and I was very envious of their Kale and the winter salads in the greenhouse.

Cotehele (National Trust)

Last year I visited the festive garland and it was so amazing I decided to return this year. All the dried flowers are planned and grown throughout the year in the gardens at Cotehele. I loved the idea of the glass baubles filled with dried flowers so have decided to try it myself this year. It was exceptionally rainy outside so I did not fully explore the gardens, but the Cornus looked very bright amongst the gloom.

Knightshayes (National Trust)

Again the weather was not great but I enjoyed the walled Kitchen garden at Knightshayes and looking around the ground floor of the impressive house which was decorated for a Victorian Christmas. The house was designed in 1869 by William Burgess.
